President Donald Trump signed a two-week stopgap spending bill on Friday 7 December to avoid a government shutdown, effectively giving a short-term extension to the EB-5 Regional Center Program only until 21 December. This was done largely to allow Congress more time to handle matters after the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush.
The EB-5 industry had been expecting the program to be extended until September 2019, so there is still a degree of uncertainty about what reforms may or may not happen, especially with other immigration matters such as the proposed Mexico border wall causing the EB-5 Program to take more of a back seat.
