Malta MIIP & Cyprus CIP:
Premium EU citizenship-by-investment programs
Unlike other citizenship programs, European solutions not only offer visa-free travel to an extensive number of countries but also the right to live, work and study in any European country. No wonder these passports are the most sought-after citizenship options.
Obtaining a Maltese or Cypriot passport through GICG expert services would offer one of the strongest, most reputable and straightforward options for HNWIs wanting a second passport in Europe with a flexible and smooth process.
Now, let’s have a closer look at what each program has to offer:
International mobility
As of April 2018, Malta and Cyprus citizens have respectively access to 156 and 150 countries on visa-free or visa-on-arrival terms, which makes them the 7th and 13th strongest passports in the World. As they are both part of the European Union, their citizens have the right of free travel within EU countries and can study, work and live anywhere in Europe.
Wealth protection
Both Malta & Cyprus taxes are based on domicile and residence rather than citizenship which means that unless the applicant resides on the islands for more than 183 days a year, they will not be taxed on foreign sources of income or foreign-source capital gains.
Both countries also offer some of the lowest corporate tax rates in Europe.
Simple process
Cyprus CIP has been commonly known as the “Fastest route to European citizenship” thanks to its undeniable fast process. Permanent residency is usually granted only five working days after the submission of the application and the biometric registration of the applicant and the new passport is received after a delay of around 6 months.
Malta has the same residency timeline, although the card delivered will be valid for 18 months, which gives enough time to finish the application process and receive the passport, obtained after one year.
Lifestyle
For those considering Malta or Cyprus as an option for relocation, both islands offer incredible lifestyle, enjoy a beautiful Mediterranean climate, good infrastructure, education and medical care. English is an official language in Malta and it is also widely spoken in Cyprus. Both countries rank in the top 25 of the safest countries in the world and have political stability.
Needless to say, they have everything a family would dream of!
